Scope of Practice: Demystifying Practice Parameters

Every year, the College receives questions from both the public and from NDs about whether a naturopathic doctor can treat a particular condition, provide a certain treatment, or conduct testing of varying kinds. What people may not realize they are grappling with, is figuring out what is within the scope of practice of the profession.

No profession has a specific list of conditions that can be treated or treatments that can be proffered. Apart from the limiting nature of such a list, the question of what is within or outside of the scope of practice is far more complex.

This session talked about the parameters that govern this topic and understand the questions one must consider when self-determining what is within your own scope of practice as a Naturopathic Doctor.
