Duties | The Discipline Committee and Fitness to Practice Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures governing the College’s Disciplinary processes. It also receives and reviews allegations referred to it by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) and conducts hearings as required under Schedule 2 of the Health Professions Procedural Code. This is a combined committee. |
Work volume | The Discipline Committee meets once per year for a full-day of annual training. Committee members are appointed to panels for the purposes of conducting hearings. A hearing may last from one full day to up-to 10 days depending on the matter. |
Compensation | As set out in the Council’s Per Diem Policy. |
Knowledge base | In addition to the competency requirements set by the Council, individuals should have a good communication, analytical and writing skills. |
Disqualifications | Individuals on the Discipline and Fitness to Practice Committee may not also sit on the ICRC. |
