Regulatory Education Program

The College of Naturopaths of Ontario’s Regulatory Education Program (REP) provides Registrants as well as members of the public access to free virtual educational programming that is focused directly on key regulatory concepts and rules. It is intended to allow Registrants and the public to learn more about the regulatory framework which governs NDs in Ontario and to help NDs not only comply, but to avoid potential issues that present a risk of harm to the public.

Sessions

Over the next several years, important topics such as consent, scope of practice, sexual abuse, record keeping, delegation among many others will be covered. These topics represent complex regulatory issues that are set out in a variety of places, such as legislation, regulations and standards of practice. Sessions will pull the essential elements of these together and present them to participants.

Each topic will be presented in a 60-to-90-minute live webinar presented in partnership between College staff and experts from within and outside of the profession. Each session will allow participants to walk away with a full understanding of the topic and regulatory requirements and practical approaches to addressing the issues in practice.

Continuing Education Credits

REP programming will be eligible for continuing education credits under the College’s Quality Assurance Program. Participants will be provided with a Certificate of Participation for their records for use as part of their CE Reporting requirements.

Accessing the Program

Live and On-line

The best way to learn will be through the live, on-line sessions presented by the College. These sessions will be interactive using case scenarios, group discussions as well as questions and answers. To access the program, you are invited to view the Upcoming REP Sessions page to review information about programming and click on the link to register for the sessions that interest you. Once registered, you will be provided with a link to attend the live webinar offered by the College.

Recorded Sessions

For those unable to attend a live session, recordings will be made available for viewing on-line. Of course, in being a recording, these will not provide the same interactive opportunity as the live sessions; however, you will still take away valuable information.  To access the recorded sessions, you are invited to view the Past REP Sessions page, locate the session of choice and click on the link to register. Once registered, you will be provided with a link to stream the recorded webinar from the College’s platform.
