Currency Requirements and Practising the Profession

This session of the Regulatory Education Program (REP) was presented by members of the College’s registration team and focused on the currency requirements related to the practice of naturopathy.

Currency requirements, as outlined in the Registration Regulation, were designed to ensure that registrants practised naturopathy for a minimum amount of time in order to maintain  clinical competencies, knowledge, skill, and judgement necessary to deliver safe, competent, and ethical patient care.

The session centered on:

  • The  currency requirements under the Registration Regulation and Registration Program Policy
  • Available options following annual audits of reported practice hours
  • Activities that could be used to address a currency deficiency
  • Types of activities that qualified toward practice hours

Subject matter experts also answered participant questions and provided clarification on the upcoming direct patient care requirements.
