Step 3

Issuance of a Certificate of Registration

Purpose

This final step is intended to reduce the challenges of purchasing professional liability insurance and eliminate the unnecessary cost of carrying insurance before you are able to practice.

Once eligible for Step 3, you will receive an e-mail notice from the College which can be provided to insurance brokers for obtaining professional liability insurance.

Cost

The initial registration fee for the current registration year (which runs from April 1 – March 31) is noted under the Initial Registration Fee and Pro-ration Schedule on the Applicant Fees section of the website. The registration fee is determined at the point at which you become eligible for Step 3 and billed upon approval of your online Step 3 form.

Required Information

The following is required, in order to finalize your registration and allow a certificate of registration to be issued:

The Step 3 online form is available via the dashboard on your College account. For assistance in completing the form, please refer to the Application for Registration Handbook.

Required photo

You must provide a recent passport-sized photograph to the College, which will be displayed on your profile on the Public Register. Your photo must be uploaded, and adhere to the requirements noted on, the Photo Submission Form.

Note: photo and photo form submissions which do not adhere to the requirements will cause delays in completing the registration process. Please review before you submit.

The following details regarding your professional liability insurance (PLI) are required on the Step 3 online form:

Next Steps

Once the College has received and reviewed your Step 3 submissions, including the online Step 3 form, uploaded insurance certificate and photo submission via the online Photo Submission Form, an e-mail will be sent with instructions to pay the registration fee. Upon receipt of payment, a registration confirmation e-mail will be sent to you which will include your registration number and instructions on accessing your certificate of registration.

Note: Registration is not complete until all necessary documentation and fees have been submitted and notification of registration has been sent by the College.
