By-law Amendments – Information to be Provided and Fees
Introduction
The Council of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario is undertaking a formal consultation on proposed amendments to the by-laws of the College as they relate to fees charged by the College and by-law provisions that support them. As required under the Health Professions Procedural Code, which is Schedule 2 of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, the Council is undertaking this mandatory 60-day consultation.
Background
The Council of the College has undertaken a review of the financial sustainability of the College to ensure its long-term viability as an entity. It is critical to the public interest that the College has financial stability for the future.
Over the past two to three years, the Council has identified activities that, in its view, represent a risk to the long-term sustainability of the College and that warrant action to reduce or eliminate those risks. The risks to which the Council is referring include two contested discipline hearings that required significant expenditures by the College, a high level of unpaid costs owed to the College and increases in the requirements to support some registrants that continue to place human resource and therefore financial pressure on the College.
Supporting Documentation
In line with this consultation’s intent, two supporting documents that sets out the proposed fee changes and by-law amendments to implement the changes are now being released for feedback.
