College transitioning to the CANRA Qualifying Examinations in 2027

Posted On: August 19, 2026

On April 1, 2027, the College will transition to the Canadian Alliance of Naturopathic Regulatory Authorities Qualifying Examinations (CANRA-QE) for entry-to-practise in Ontario.

The CANRA-QE will replace the entry-to-practise examinations currently administered by the College:

  • Ontario Clinical (Practical) Examinations
  • Ontario Clinical Sciences Examination
  • Ontario Biomedical Examination

This transition will support a consistent national approach to assessing naturopathic competencies. It will also reduce duplicate examination requirements for applicants seeking registration in more than one jurisdiction and support a more streamlined and standardized entry-to-practise process.

What candidates need to know

We will offer Winter 2027 sessions of all three Ontario examinations to support candidates currently completing their entry-to-practise examination requirements. Exam dates will be announced in late October 2026 and posted on the College website on each examination’s Fees & Schedule page.

Candidates can also register for the October 25, 2026, Clinical (Practical) Examinations beginning August 27, 2026.

Review the College’s Exam Transition Policy for additional details on previous results, unsuccessful attempts, and accommodations.
