Revocation of R. Dodd’s Certificate of Registration

On Tuesday February 14, 2023, a Panel of the Discipline Committee of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (the College) ordered the Chief Executive Officer of the College to immediately revoke the certificate of registration of Richard Dodd.

Mr. Dodd, registration number 0768, was the owner of The Natural Path Integrated Health Care Centre clinic on Cawthra Road, in Mississauga, Ontario. He faced serious allegations of professional misconduct, including but not limited to:

• Administering and/or Offering and/or Advertising Services and Treatments outside of the Registrant’s scope of practice;
• Providing non-essential services under Ontario’s Emergency Order;
• Failing to comply with an order of a panel of the College;
• Failure to Cooperate with Investigators appointed by the College; and/or
• Issuing a COVID-19 vaccine exemption letter; and
• Engaging in conduct or performing an act relevant to the practice of the profession that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional.

After three days of public hearings, the Panel of the Discipline Committee found that the College had proved all of the allegations against Mr. Dodd. The Panel  ordered the immediate revocation of Mr. Dodd’s certificate of registration, which had been suspended since December 8, 2021 by order of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee. The Panel also ordered that he pay the College $77,046.04 in costs, representing two-thirds of the costs incurred by the College for investigating and holding hearings into the allegations against Mr. Dodd.
