Benefits of Volunteering
Becoming a volunteer with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario offers many diverse opportunities to contribute to our community, focused on serving the public interest in a meaningful and impactful way.
1. Boost your wellbeing
Volunteering contributes to your mental and emotional health, fostering a sense of purpose and connection. Research shows that volunteers report higher self-confidence and life satisfaction. Giving back creates a ripple effect of positivity for both you and the community you serve.
2. Get compensated for your time and efforts
While volunteering is primarily about contributing, the College values your time and effort and compensation for meeting time and in-field volunteer activities, such as those associated with being an examiner or an assessor, reflects our appreciation for your vital contributions.
3. Support Self-Regulation
Your participation supports self-regulation of the profession. Decisions surrounding various program areas including complaints/investigations, quality assurance, and peer assessments are all undertaken by volunteers on Committees under the authority of the Council. Self-regulation framework ensures the integrity of naturopathic care in Ontario by serving and protecting the public interest.
4. Flexibility in roles
Whether you prefer a one-time assignment or a long-term role, we offer diverse opportunities tailored to your availability and interests. You can volunteer in ways that fit your skills, schedule, and preferences, allowing for a personalized and rewarding experience.
5. Make an impact
Within our small community of volunteers, you will immediately feel the impact of your efforts as you foster new connections, experience personal and professional growth and be supported as you challenge yourself in new ways. Every contribution, big or small, is valued.
