Specified Continuing Education and Remediation Program (SCERP)

SCERP completed on July 11, 2018
May 03, 2018 College of Naturopaths of Ontario On May 3, 2018 a Panel of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee determined that Dr. Charney, ND must successfully and unconditionally complete, at her own expense, a SCERP and submit a report to the Registrar no later than August 3, 2018.

The SCERP must include the following:
  • a review of the following College Standards of Practice;
  • a review of the following College's Practice Guideline;
  • self-directed learning of the assessment of risk factors related to overprescribing Vitamin D;
  • self-directed learning with regards to the information included on the prescription and documenting the prescription in the patient file; and
  • self-directed learning with regards to the documentation of informed consent discussions with patients.

The report must incorporate the following:

  • a description of the educational activities that the Member undertook to address the aforementioned learning needs;
  • a summary of what the Member has learned; and
  • an indication of how the Member would have addressed the same situation under the current regulations and standards of practice based on the self-directed learning.
