Other Examinations

In addition to the entry-to-practice Ontario Clinical Examinations, the College administers two post-registration ‘Standard of Practice’ examinations: the Ontario Intravenous Infusion Therapy (IVIT) exam, and the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics examination.

Effective April 30, 2018, 4th year students of CNME-accredited programs in naturopathy may enroll in the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics Course and sit the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics exam.  Note: Individuals must be registered Members of the College prior to being deemed to have met the Standard of Practice for Prescribing, and performing the controlled acts granted under this Standard of Practice.

Eligibility has also been extended to NDs registered in another regulated Canadian jurisdiction, who have completed the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics course offered through the Therapeutics Education Collaboration (TEC).

To ensure its mandate of public protection is maintained, and only authorized individuals are performing the controlled acts granted with meeting the Standard of Practice for IVIT, the College continues to restrict exam registration to registered Ontario naturopathic doctors who have completed the College-approved prerequisite training.
